MPC Based High-Frequency Boost Converter In simulink

This project presents a high-performance Model Predictive Control (MPC) based boost converter designed for electric vehicle (EV) charging and DC power applications. The system efficiently boosts a variable input voltage range of 48–56 V to a regulated output of 60 V, with scalability up to 72 V for future expansion.

The controller utilizes a predictive model of the converter to evaluate multiple duty cycle candidates and selects the optimal switching action that minimizes voltage error and current deviation. The integration of feedforward control and integral compensation ensures fast transient response, minimal steady-state error, and robustness against input voltage fluctuations and load variations.

Operating at a high switching frequency of 150 kHz, the converter achieves compact design with reduced ripple and improved dynamic performance. The system is fully implemented in MATLAB/Simulink, making it suitable for simulation, research, and real-time control validation in advanced power electronic systems.
